No matter what economic level you find yourself you can feel RICH on a cruise ship.  The very rich people can have their suites, what do I care. They have all the same activities I have on the ship available to them that I have.  And it doesn't matter what type of accommodation you have, your room is always attended to and every wish you have is serviced by someone.  Dining, Dancing, Shows and special rooms are not for some but for everyone.  So much diversity, do what interests YOU, where else do you have so many lavish choices.  Patrick and I ALWAYS eat in the dining room; I like linen tablecloths, I like waiters and eggs benedict.  Many people go to the buffet, I just can't stand in another line or hover over the toaster while my bagel toasts...and that sneeze guard.  No, the buffet is not for me.  I love to be pampered.

This time of the year brings back memories of being on the SeaDream Yacht where 2 years ago my husband and I woke up to a brand new year on the deck of the yacht when the soft rays of sun and cool breezes of St Barth's gently brought us to consciousness.

The SeaDream Yacht is an experience that is hard to describe.  You share a vessel with 109 other people for a week strutting the decks like a sultan, toasting neighboring yachts; off to our right is Paul Allen's yacht with 2 helicopters and to our left the Oracle's yacht who  shared their lazer show with everyone in the harbor.  You see, ther World's biggest yachts go either to St. Tropez or St Bart's and because we bought a ticket, we shared this experience with the rich and famous.  Like Sandals, this yacht is all-inclusive...meaning all the liquor is free.  The liquor matches the elegance of the food and friends you experience on this trip.  How many ships open the back of the ship so you can ride the waves on a wave runner or zodiac.

The islands are beautiful but they don't compare to the same yacht off the coast of Nice, St Tropez, Cannes and Monte Carlo.  The Mediterrean is my favorite trip of all time.  Adopted by 22 Norwegian's, we learned about many aspects of European entrepreneur life.

Starting, ending or anytime of the year the SeaDream Yacht is a lifechanging experience.

This is a thank you note written to Things To Do in DC.  You should check it out.

We were looking for something special to do on New Years Eve and by attending your party we found that something.  For years you have had many great parties that I have attended. Recently I have critizied you for not having enough seats at many of your parties and I was frightened to attend, was I surprised. There were 1800 people all over The Willard but you never felt like there were that many people anywhere. Thank you for ringing in the new decade in style.

There is no place in Washington, DC with more elegance, class and that offers more of a thrill than The Willard.  Please tell me that you will do this party at The Willard next year.

Can't get to New York?  I know what to do.  This year I indulged myself and saw the Rockettes Road Show. A great experience,  Not.  Save your dollars for a train ticket to New York and see the entire line of kicking creatures where it all started.  Eighteen girls a Rockette line does  not make.  Not to mention, The Patriot Center is a basketball stadium, there are NO animals in the show.  There are no Green Velvet outfits in fact there are only a few of the numbers you would see if you saw the original show on the Great White Way.

We saw the show at the Patriot Center, we paid somewhere in the $60's, 4 More Travel can get you a ticket to the Rockefeller Center show for about $69 all you need to do is save up for a round trip ticket on Amtrak, there is no better and reliable way to travel to New York.  You can come back the same day.

Traveling with friends makes the experience so exciting.  Because we get together and share our stories of the day with our friends it cements the experience allowing it to linger in our memory that much longer.
